About me

Hello! I'm Giselle. I define myself as an inveterate dreamer, and my job is to design and create unique and unrepeatable pieces of edible art, designed to stimulate the senses, evoke sensations and convey emotions.

My roots

Venezuelan by birth, with English, Lebanese and Guyanese roots, and living in Marbella for about 15 years, my cultural identity remains undefined. I like to say that I am simply a citizen of the world who put down roots in a city of great cultural diversity such as Marbella.

How I got into the world of cakes

Since I was little, I have always had an interest in art and hospitality, and when I was older and I had to decide which direction to take, undecided between design and tourism, I opted for Hotel Management. I had the privilege of studying in Switzerland and working in luxury hotels where I learned that it is the small details that make the difference. 

reinvention

Back in Venezuela I did a career in Interior Design and I was able to explore and develop my composition skills by applying all the design concepts learned in class. The hours flew by because I thoroughly enjoyed every step of the design process; from the conception of an idea and its development, to its execution. 

But when I emigrated to Spain in 2008 I was forced to reinvent myself again. Seeking to appease my anxiety, I dove headlong into the kitchen - this has always been the place where I feel reconnected with my roots, wrapped in the remembrance of those endearing and scandalous family meals.

 

I recreated the emblematic recipes of my grandmothers and my mother… all of them so different and at the same time so similar in their ways of showing affection with delights for the palate. Above all, I remember the amazing effect that their desserts had, the perfect closing to any evening, that magical sweet moment that impregnated all the senses and that very few could resist.

I began to experiment and apply my previous knowledge making cakes more and more daring, and without realizing it, I discovered a new means of expression. A medium that allowed me to encompass my essence in one piece: my vocation to serve and my desire to create and entertain.

And that's how my hobby organically became my trade.

FAQ

Is everything edible?

In my creations, everything that you see on the outside is edible. Sometimes it's hard to believe, isn't it? And, of course, everything on the inside is edible as well, although there are usually some inedible elements used for structural or adhesive purposes. I will provide you with a list of non-edible items at the time of delivery. These items must be removed before serving.

Do you accommodate food allergies?

All my products are made in the same kitchen, so there's a risk of cross-contamination. As much as I'd love to accommodate everyone, it's not always possible. Please ask before placing your order if you or any of your guests have food allergies.

Is it possible to have different flavours on each cake tier?

​

Absolutely. It's a great conversation starter for your guests, and it's a good idea to give them the option of at least two flavours. I recommend choosing two distinct flavours; for example, for a wedding cake, each member of the couple can choose one of the flavours, adding meaning to the inside of the cake as well.

Do you offer other desserts besides cakes?

​

Yes, I make a variety of desserts suitable for creating spectacular dessert tables. A perfect addition to create a fun, unique, and memorable dessert experience for your guests. Let me know if you're interested, and we can discuss it in more detail during your consultation.
